A fun family day weekend in (just outside of) Kelowna.
Some spots were tracked out but with a short easy stroll you could wade through waist deep all day. A ghost tree sanctuary on top.
Green(ish) Kelowna down below. This was a sweet spot to start a run from. You'd get about 8-10 turns in fresh stuff then some hit and miss, find your own track sweet tree runs. Then it flattened out and you had to battle to get back to a run but it was worth it.
This was the backside. It would have been cool but you had to hike for miles to get back if you dropped in.
This is the walk over. Boo rocks a mega strike.
Why walk down the a small hill, tobogan!
I'm the man, behind the man, behind the man. Here are some new friends. I bought a board (I have yet to actually pickup) from the photographer here.
The white desert.
Beer break.
Me and my girl. In this pic and the next you see how I am the only one who's head has clearly hit the ground and am the only one without a helmet.
Two cool cats. I know them as Bramsey. The first day had a mean wind at the top 1/3 of the chairlifts though clear as a bell and no wind while riding. The second day was calm and great all day. In the end the only injury I got was a cut on my right thumb from opening beer bottles both nights. It was a great trip. We got 8 people in a 4 person hottub. One wasn't wearing a suit. Nuff said.
Calgary. Cold, then ice cold, then mild, then freezing, then warm, then cold..... I like it. I love when the trees freeze.
I just snapped these on my ride home. The whole city was very pretty (except the roads).
And some random shots I just noticed and tried to quick-shoot. This one is why I think people make fun of the Calgary tower. Not quite the CN.
And this one made me laugh. Don't you picture one of the little kids driving? Especially with the crooked sign.
Update! Dash (not named dash) is doing great.
She lives with two other cats at a co-workers place and has become very affectionate and playful.
Demon eyes (angel eyes?). Apparently she got out semi-recently while the back door was open and it was her first time out since being taken home. She ran to the middle of the yard, stopped, and started howling and running side to side across the whole backyard. A big backyard to. Kinji, the co-worker, thought it was as if she remembered what it was like when she lived outside and didn't want to go back. Not one bit.
I'm glad she's a good cat.
Work to come later......
